The extension allows you to create 3D projects with 3D models or simple shapes and lighting. The extension is not visible from the "Add Extension" in the normal editor but can be found in Live Tests. The 3D extension is used to say "Use the magic of 3D to spice up your project." You can create a world full of stuff. I[1] have personally never used this.
It will soon allow the use of VR.
