ThingAI is an artificial intelligence based on GPT-4 created by discord user Cryptid (wisienki2ie). It's meant to serve as a helpful companion that isn't as corporate as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or Google Gemini.

New ThingAI Website

Development began on the 3rd of March under the name PangAI, but later due to laziness PangAI became the simpler ThingAI we know today. 5 Hours after development began ThingAI 1.0 was released to the public.

The development of ThingAI 1.1 began the very next day and was released on the 9th of March introducing text to speech and speech to text to ThingAI as well as a new prompt.

Development of ThingAI 2.0 began on the 21st of April and is still in progress. The update introduces a new prompt capable of drawing using different models, a custom ThingAI creator, a ThingAI workshop where users can share their custom ThingAI's, a new API and a new UI as well as a website version.

The first ThingAI 2.0 preview dropped on the 4th of May with the second preview dropping shortly after on the 6th of May.

The third preview was released on the 28th of May as a website exclusive update, bringing a major overhaul to the ThingAI website.

The development of the new API began on the 14th of June and the 1.0 build releasing on the 15th of June and the 1.1 build releasing on the 2nd of July, as of now neither the finished website nor ThingAI extension are public.


Future of ThingAI

From what we know, ThingAI 2.1 is rumored to introduce a Game Mode, which would allow the user to play games like Chess, Checkers, Tic Tac Toe and Poker against the AI itself.

The release date of both ThingAI 2.0 and 2.1 is unknown.

ThingAI 2.0 Pro is planned on being made with first GitHub commits related to it appearing on the 2nd of July, it's supposed to introduce a new database feature that would allow users to input their own database that ThingAI would pull information from.
