This guide will show you how to open a .sb3 file in PenguinMod. PenguinMod defaults to opening their own file format, .pmp, however there is a way to open .sb3, .sb2, or any other project file that's supported by Scratch itself.

  1. To import your project file, you'll have to go to the editor and then click on "File", then in the dropdown menu, click on "Load from your computer". Once you do that, it will open your file navigation menu.
  2. Windows file navigation dropdown menu.
Depending on what OS you use (assuming you use Windows, however this would probably work the same on Mac and Linux), you'll want to find the dropdown menu which allows you to choose what file type you would like to open. By default, it would be set to 'PenguinMod Project'.
  3. Once you find the dropdown menu, you'll want to click on it and select 'Scratch Project'. This will allow you to view Scratch Project files instead of PenguinMod Project files.
  4. After doing the previous step, you can now select what Scratch Project file you would like to open.
