Snail IDE is a mod of PenguinMod made by Mr_rudy which adds a few new extensions and features; despite this, it is incompatible with some newer features that PenguinMod has.
Controversies
Snail IDE has its fair share of controversies and many people hate it in the community because they put extensions from other people into their extension gallery without consent.
Prior to around January 2024, they used to put "collaboration with <Extension Creator>". The Discord member "Gen1x" got mad at this, and told them that in order to use his extensions, mr_rudy must change it to "Created by", as "collaboration" implied that the extensions were put in the gallery with consent from the creator, which was not true.
Thanks to this, now every extension they have put in their extension gallery has the "Created by <username>" credit.
